Singing Praises

leave a comment »

About fifty years ago, it was not uncommon to hear singing coming from the classroom.  Songs like the Battle Hymn of the Republic, America, America the Beautiful, as well as even spiritual songs that give praise and honor to the Creator for His mercy and blessings of liberty.

Since 1962, though, thanks to a very stupidly idiotic Supreme Court who, by judicial fiat, inappropriately applied the Establishment Clause and made God unwelcome in the classroom, just making the dumbkopfs at the American Crazed Liberal Union (ACLU) sing praise songs of their own.  And of course, as God has been expunged from the classroom back then, it’s now spiritually silent in government, as Abraham Lincoln predicted, almost prophetically.

But now, instead of patriotic songs or secular songs, the kids are now singing praises once more – but not praises to God or anything, but instead, to Barack Obama.  The kids at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, NJ, have now been taught songs giving praise to President Obama, the second one set loosely to the Battle Hymn of the Republic (grrr):

Aww, what sweet little angels, singing songs about someone whom they don’t understand at all.  Want to sing along?  Here are the lyrics for two – don’t sing the blue lines, those are my comments, just think about those while you sing the songs:

Song 1:
Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
(is he tasty or something?)

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
(lend a hand, holding lots of tax dollars, that is)

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
(oh yes, more of that social justice, all-the-world-has-to-be-fair-and-play-nice garbage)

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
(everyone does get a chance in America. Not everyone is successful – but because we want to be fair, we have to doll out trillions to even the score)

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama
(all are equal in his sight?  We are all equal in GOD’s eyes…but I guess these people think him to be some sort of enlightened deity)

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama
(uhh…no….)

Song 2:
Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"
(what accomplishments??!?)

Hooray, Mr. President! You’re number one!

(just don’t go stepping in number two…)

The first black American to lead this great nation!
(grr…but it’s never been about black or white, eh? never been about race?  not to mention the guy is only half black…he’s also the 44th white American to lead the nation..)

Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country’s economy number one again!
(what plans?  Every one of them involve spending money we don’t have on programs we don’t need.  If he wanted to help the economy, he’d stop demonizing business and turn his ire towards government itself)

Hooray Mr. President, we’re really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!
(you do?  he does?  ask that question of SEIU and ACORN)

So continue —- Mr. President we know you’ll do the trick
So here’s a hearty hip-hooray —-
(silly rabbit – tricks are for kids, besides, on the street, a trick is, what, $50 these days? And if you don’t have the money, ask ACORN. I’m sure they’ll help with the tax advice)

Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
(yeah, hooray…can we eat the minstrels now? it’s getting cold out here)

Give me a minute…I’m seething…and giggling maniacally…

Okay, what the heck is all this about?  I mean, this isn’t education, this is indoctrination, plain and simple.  But the thing is, President Bush said these same things and yet, the kids in the schools weren’t being taught the “mmm mmm mmm, George Walker Bush”.  Maybe it just doesn’t roll off the tongue as well, but perhaps maybe its because despite being called crackpots for making assertions about glorified hero worship (which is unjustified because he STILL really hasn’t done anything, even after nine months), the point is, we’re seeing it in front of our faces and then being derided by the left when we call them on their near idolatrous behavior.

I’m not against people giving President Obama credit where due, but the amount of praise lavished on this sitting president is seriously unjustified, as well as unnatural.

This is yet another reason why I am so glad my kids are homeschooled.

Well, if your blood is boiling and ready to start getting on the blower to voice your opinion, let me provide you with some contact information.  (Thanks Teresa!)

I Am Not a Racist

leave a comment »

I’m sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we’re Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration. – Hillary Rodham Clinton

But I guess if people stand up and declare their right to debate and disagree with the Obama administration, it’s quite alright to call them racists.  And I don’t hear Hillary ardently shouting this proclamation from a pulpit somewhere to a group of Tea Party protesters.  And I also don’t hear any apologies from the left for spewing all over President Bush – as in, it’s okay to write bumper stickers of “Bush lied, kids died” and have “stale”mates like Dingy Harry Reid and Queen Bee Nancy Pelosi impugn the integrity of the President while crying foul when their congressional opponents do the same right back.

For the last few weeks now, I’ve heard this word thrown around so much by people who believe that the hundreds of thousand…no, scratch that…millions of Americans that are standing up in disagreement and disgust with the current government administration.   Unfortunately, it would seem that Hillary’s words, which jazzed thousands of left wing followers of Clintonian liberalism only apply if you’re a member of the left-wing.  If you’re right wing, dissent is not allowed if you want to be recognized as anything but a racist, worthy-to-be-listed-on-the-White-House-blacklist, hatemonger, “making up stuff” as Obama said on the campaign trail.

When Rep. Joe Wilson stood up in the House during President Obama’s speech and flat told him “You lie”, I seriously doubt Mr. Wilson was applying this to the color of President Obama’s skin color.  But Maureen Dowd had the audacity to impugn Mr. Wilson in her New York Times piece (of junk) by saying she heard the word, “boy” after Wilson’s statement (You lie, boy),  while Michael Eric Dyson went further by saying he heard, “You lie, uppity n-word”.  Hmm, are these two common-taters hearing things now or is this just another example of racist white-guy profiling?  Or are they still upset that Mr. Wilson was of the mindset that flying the Confederate Battle Flag was considered preservation of heritage when he voted to keep it flying over the capitol in Columbus.

As I’ve written before, it’s ridiculous that on one hand, if someone wants to fly the Confederate Battle Flag, they are a racist (despite the claims of culture by those who fly it), but yet, those same people who criticize, say, Latinos for flying the Mexican flag (again, for culture reasons) are again, racist.  So they are racist for flying a historical American flag for heritage reasons and racist again when they criticize against the flying of a flag of a foreign nationality for exactly the same reason.

Last week, the venerable Gertrude Baines, one of the few people left on earth that was born in the 19th century passed away at the golden age of 115 years.  And while I don’t want to dishonor her life, particularly when she proved that so-called healthy eating isn’t a silver bullet to keeping people alive any longer, when asked about her reasons for voting for Obama, her response was, “He’s for the colored people” and “Everybody’s glad for a colored man to be in there sometime.”  She also did say, “We all are the same on the skin. It’s dark, and theirs is white."  So, what…was John McCain for colored people?  What initiatives has Obama done specifically to help black people?  How has he demonstrated that he’s “for the colored people”?

Jimmy Carter, once again, showed his idiocy by saying, “I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity towards President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man”. Sheesh, as if this guy hasn’t already stuck his foot in his mouth so many times it’s beyond count, he goes and does it again, completely clueless to the reasons why between 1.5 – 2 million people marched on Washington to voice three of their First Amendment rights.  Mr. Carter, what people precisely are you talking about here?

(BTW – The DC Protest, better attended than the Obama Inauguration, left no trash behind for the city to cleanup, unlike the Inauguration which left over 130 tons, requiring city workers to labor on triple shifts to clear the piles)

Representative Maxine Waters, this past week, continued the race baiting, saying it’s not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views. In fact, during an interview on the Bill Press Radio show she indicated, “I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed, I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers. What I’m looking for is the very people who carry the signs who are referring to the policies in very, very strange ways like ‘Obamacare’ and ‘Barry Obamacare with Kennedy,” She further said, “What I’ve been interested in is hearing from those people that everybody’s referring to — everybody on the Mall, in the rally."

Hey Maxine – if you really want to know what all those folks that protested in DC is referring to, just go ask them, if you have anything resembling courage in that overly outspoken heart of yours.  The ways people are referring to the policies won’t be that strange, if you actually took a minute to listen to what they are saying.

(And she used the term “teabaggers”, once again showing her ignorance by using a pejorative sexual term to describe the scores of people petitioning their elected officials through town hall meetings and showing their utter disgust with a runaway government.)

I personally do not care what color the President’s skin is, notwithstanding that Mr. Obama is just as much white as he is black.  When I criticize Mr. Obama, it’s not because he’s (half)-black and I have a problem with that.  I criticize him because I have a problem with his half-cocked, big government, entitlement policies that are, at best, at odds with the Constitution’s Article 1 Section 8.  It’s about the policy, not the skin color. Get it?!?

What’s funny is that Republican chair Michael Steele has come out regularly in contrary to Obama’s policies. And he’s not the only black conservative thinker out there.  Take folks like Prof. Walter Williams, chairman of the economics department of George Mason University; Prof. Thomas Sowell, the Rose and Milton Friedman Senior Fellow in Public Policy at the Hoover Institution; U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas; or Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs.  Are these people racists or shall we get a little nastier and start uttering the words “Uncle Tom”.  Yeah, I didn’t think so.

But with all of this racism rhetoric being thrown around as of late, I am wondering why the left is wanting to make this about race, in ad hominem.  Are they are watching an reawakening of conservatism and the growth of simple American folks who are getting annoyed at the explosive growth of the government and running out of civility in their discourse, because millions of Americans still refuse the Obama kool-aid?  Or is this a clever diversion to run interference because the health reform bills coming out of Congress are getting revealed as not worth the thousand plus pages on which they are printed.

We are one race: the human race, and I’m completely okay to accept those just happen to have a bit more melanin in their skin as a fellow child of Adam and Noah.  And I’ll even do it when they insist that I’m not, while continuing to spread division and discord.  But to those of you who keep playing the race card, don’t keep making this about race, or I may start questioning just who the racists really are.  I don’t want to go there, and you shouldn’t either.  Let’s keep it focused on policy and let the players be black, white, red, yellow, or whatever color God happened to paint them.

The Tree of Liberty

leave a comment »

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. – Thomas Jefferson

I opened with Jefferson’s quote today because, while we never want to see our own blood, our innocent blood, poured out by evil men, the simple truth is that we never take action against the forces of evil until the cost becomes blood.  We don’t overly feel persuaded (maybe even now a little afraid) to stand up for our rights and liberties as Americans until something happens that forces us to act.

This photo here depicts a lynching, yes, I get that.  The men doing it are known as the Sons of Liberty and they are tarring and feathering a tax collector of King George.  (Now how many of you have desired in your heart to tar and feather an IRS agent or two?)  In the background, we see a rather large tree, the Liberty Tree, which served during the American Revolution as a rally point for a town.  Most every town had one, but the one depicted here is the original Liberty Tree, planted near Boston Common.

I bring up the Liberty Tree because, back then, it served also as a reminder – a living symbol of support for the ideals of individual liberty and resistance to tyranny, particularly in the form of taxation, but also in many other liberties that were being infringed, such as the freedom of speech and press, so infringed by the Stamp Act of 1765.

Government is not the solution to our problem – government is the problem. – Ronald Reagan

Today, our country yet again faces challenges to individual liberty by statists who desire to rule the country as an elite oligarchy.  They seek, not just expanded government, but a government without end because of their ever present belief that government can solve every problem, if the individuals would just cede their rights and allegiances to it.   The statists are interested only in capturing power for themselves and then dispensing to those who agree with them.  They aren’t concerned about liberty or freedom for the average American citizen, but rather, desire to remove that liberty and replace it with tyranny.  They are so absorbed by carrying out social justice initiatives that they are creating injustices for those whom they demonize.  They decry the breaches of so-called rights for animals but slaughter a million unborn babies per year in abortion clinics, insistent it’s called ‘reproductive rights’ or ‘choice’.  They spend billions without a care and expect that wealthiest of Americans are going to foot the bill.  They don’t care about your liberty – they care about doing what is right in their own eyes.

Today is September 11, 2009, eight years ago since America witnessed the horrific attack on our homeland that took the lives of 2,977 people and altered the course of events on the planet forever.  That event then opened a series of wars and conflicts which gave the Tree of Liberty the refreshing that Jefferson told us about – patriots, our countrymen who died in the attacks, our military men and women who have given their lives in the War on Terror (I refuse to supplant that term), as well as our First Responders who lost their lives trying to rescue those in peril.  We have also seen much tyrant blood spilled as our military has mounted a very successful campaign in Iraq and Afghanistan to stamp out the Al Qaida network.  Throughout the country, we see acts of commemoration and token gestures of piety by the main stream media, who continue to exploit the event for ratings.  But I’m afraid today will be less of a memory and more of a segue into the weekend for the greatest number of people.

In 1966, it was discovered that the original Liberty Tree was nearly forgotten, as the commemoration plaque for it was covered by bird droppings and obscured by a restaurant sign.  It took reporter Robert Kessler to convince the, then, Governor of Massachusetts, John Volpe, to help restore the site. Today, thankfully, there is a more visible bronze statue to commemorate the very place where the Sons of Liberty took action.

We have forgotten about our Liberty Tree – leaving only small reminders here and there that we can barely see, although we have covered them with our proverbial dung droppings and our preoccupations with our pursuits.  We quickly forget about the blood that is spilled for our liberties and freedoms – individual liberties about which care less and less.  We don’t care that Communists and Statists are infiltrating our government and making policy.  And we can barely read the commemorations that we have already in place to help us not to forget what’s important – that we are free men and women in charge of our destiny.  We don’t need the government to regulate our lives – we can do that ourselves.  Let the government stick to the functions of Article 1 Section 8 and let the people handle the rest.

Finally, I leave you with one other Liberty Tree reference – the Tree that was planted on Golgotha.

You may not know what Golgotha is, but it means, “a place of the skull”, also known as Calvary, the place where Jesus Christ was crucified for sins.  His blood was poured out around his Tree of Liberty because of the bondage that sin creates for mankind.  His Tree was planted because He loves you enough to allow evil men to spill his blood, his innocent blood, so that you can be free from your sin.  And the only thing you have to realize is that He did this because he wants you to be free of your sin.  Forgiveness is there for the asking, if you want it.

God won’t force you to accept anything you don’t want to accept, but if you are in bondage of sin, remember that the Tree of Liberty planted by Roman soldiers and refreshed by the blood of the Savior also brings a ultimate freedom for you.

So, where’s your tree?  Have you been to it lately?  Does your town have one?  Perhaps a very patriotic thing to do, not to mention very environmentally friendly, would be to plant a tree, a Liberty Tree of your own – maybe for you or even your town.  If you have a large elm in your yard or a park, perhaps it would be a good idea to designate it as your Liberty Tree and begin talking with your friends and neighbors under it, discussing the directions of our country and how we return to the fundamentals of liberty and freedom.  I don’t suggest lynching any IRS agents under it, but I do think we need to get under the tree and start talking.

I hope we start doing this soon, before the Liberty Tree requires more blood to refresh it.

If You Can Keep It

leave a comment »

Folks, for the last few months, I have sat back and wrote on topics from all across the political world.  I’ve been harshly critical of politicians on both sides of the aisle who have been elected to represent us in Washington.  And we’ve all heard the angry voices laying blame on Obama, on Bush, on this senator, that representative, about this and that. However, what I’m discussing in this post is an admonishment to you, my readers.  And I don’t mean to be demeaning, but I do want to encourage you in God’s love because I believe much of the blame for the direction in which we’re presently heading is just as much our fault as it is theirs.

We have watched over the last few months and witnessed the far-left liberals do everything in their power to disassemble what the Founders built up, not so very long ago.  And while we’ve started waking up from the nightmare, we’re now in shock and horror as we see the damage that should have never been, because told ourselves, “not in our lifetime” or “it’s not all that bad.”  And then, we sat with our mouths agape as we learned that, yes, it’s that bad…and it’s getting worse.  We have allowed the rule of America be subjugated by an elite class of people, an oligarchy.  We grew lazy and indifferent and because of this, we are losing our country.

The Oligarchy

Now, let’s be clear about the thoughts and intents of what the oligarchy is thinking; this thing is bigger than Obama. There has been a global effort since the founding of our nation to destroy the dream of America. Throughout all of human history, a select few have sought to rule over the whole. This has happened with every major empire and government since Nimrod first suggested the idea of a ruling class, thousands of years ago.

America is an experiment of creating a functional republic of sovereignties and allowing those to rule democratically.  It stands as an affront to the oligarchies that want power of the most powerful nation on earth.  And they will do whatever they have to do in order to get it.  They will lie, steal, cheat and not even think twice, because, in the end, taking control of our country, destroying our way of life, and then gloating over how they told us it would never work is what they want.

And we’re giving it to them.  We’re giving it to them because we are not all showing that we care enough to do something about it.

In 1787, after a very tense and nearly unsuccessful Constitutional Congress met, at first to just fix problems with the Articles of Confederation, which later turned into a forging of a Constitution, an inquisitive woman asked of Dr. Benjamin Franklin, "Sir, what have you given us? " He responded, "A republic, madame, if you can keep it."

Today, there are powers at work, from without and within seeking to destroy our republic for every reason imaginable. It is not unreasonable to assume that they have now penetrated our government, mostly because of something that Abe Lincoln once said, "The philosophy of the classroom in one generation will become the philosophy of government in the next."  In 1962, the Supreme Court, overstepping its bounds and at the behest of godless and near satanic social justice organizations like the ACLU told kids that praying in schools, reading the bible, and acknowledging that America is One Nation Under God was somehow unconstitutional. Because of this, God is slowly being removed from every facet of the public square, in the light of heathenistic oligarchs.

God’s Plan and Humanity’s Disobedience

God’s original plan for government was to create a quasi-republic based on the rule of families, not the all-encumbering State and yet, we have been duped into thinking that without leaders like Barack Hussein Obama to bring hope and change, that somehow, we can’t function as Americans.

If you go back to the time of Nimrod, you find that, according to the writings of Josephus, Nimrod, through charisma, taught people to leave off dependence on God, as they were capable of doing for themselves. Nimrod created a government of dependence which turned into tyranny.  Since that time, we, as humans, have turned our eyes from God and onto ourselves.  When we can’t solve a problem, we don’t turn to God, we turn to someone promising hope and change.  And because of this, we have lost sight of what we are supposed to be as Americans.  We have forgotten that the soul and power of America rests in her people, not in her government. We have forgotten that the preservation of our republic was more important than personal agendas.  And as such, we have let the enemy in through the front door.

Our Personal Solution

Today, you’re probably wondering how to fix the problem, what you, as one person, watching FOXNews and angry can do to change your country for the better.  We have heard suggestions like “write your congressman”, or “band together in one voice of opposition”, or “get in their face and stand up for your beliefs”.  But the one thing I have not heard very much is the one thing we must do, now, before we do anything else.

During the 1787 Convention, when all hope of finding a solution seemed, the deist Benjamin Franklin suggested that it may be time to pray and ask the God of Heaven for his guidance.  And so they did; and when they did, God wrought a miracle and our Constitution came alive.  If even the deist Benjamin Franklin could recognize that what was required was God, perhaps we can learn by the same wisdom.  Consider this verse from scripture:

2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Do you want to save your country?  Do you want to keep your republic?  Humble yourself, pray, seek God’s face and turn from your own wickedness.  Get down on your face before God and ask for Him to forgive you, to cleanse you, and to make you fit for His use, particularly if you are a man with a family.  Once you have purged your own impurity, then listen to the words of Reagan:

And let me offer lesson number one about America: All great change in America begins at the dinner table. So, tomorrow night in the kitchen I hope the talking begins. And children, if your parents haven’t been teaching you what it means to be an American, let ‘em know and nail ‘em on it. That would be a very American thing to do. – Ronald W. Reagan, 1989 Presidential Farewell Address

Fix yourself.  Fix your family.  Share the miracle with just one friend with conviction. And then get out there and be vocal.

That, my friends, is how we fix America.  And there is nothing that the oligarchy can do to stop you.
