Singing Praises
About fifty years ago, it was not uncommon to hear singing coming from the classroom. Songs like the Battle Hymn of the Republic, America, America the Beautiful, as well as even spiritual songs that give praise and honor to the Creator for His mercy and blessings of liberty.
Since 1962, though, thanks to a very stupidly idiotic Supreme Court who, by judicial fiat, inappropriately applied the Establishment Clause and made God unwelcome in the classroom, just making the dumbkopfs at the American Crazed Liberal Union (ACLU) sing praise songs of their own. And of course, as God has been expunged from the classroom back then, it’s now spiritually silent in government, as Abraham Lincoln predicted, almost prophetically.
But now, instead of patriotic songs or secular songs, the kids are now singing praises once more – but not praises to God or anything, but instead, to Barack Obama. The kids at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, NJ, have now been taught songs giving praise to President Obama, the second one set loosely to the Battle Hymn of the Republic (grrr):
Aww, what sweet little angels, singing songs about someone whom they don’t understand at all. Want to sing along? Here are the lyrics for two – don’t sing the blue lines, those are my comments, just think about those while you sing the songs:
|
Song 1: He said that all must lend a hand He said we must be fair today He said that we must take a stand He said red, yellow, black or white Yes! |
Song 2: Hooray, Mr. President! You’re number one! (just don’t go stepping in number two…) The first black American to lead this great nation! Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans Hooray Mr. President, we’re really proud of you! So continue —- Mr. President we know you’ll do the trick Hip, hip hooray! |
Give me a minute…I’m seething…and giggling maniacally…
Okay, what the heck is all this about? I mean, this isn’t education, this is indoctrination, plain and simple. But the thing is, President Bush said these same things and yet, the kids in the schools weren’t being taught the “mmm mmm mmm, George Walker Bush”. Maybe it just doesn’t roll off the tongue as well, but perhaps maybe its because despite being called crackpots for making assertions about glorified hero worship (which is unjustified because he STILL really hasn’t done anything, even after nine months), the point is, we’re seeing it in front of our faces and then being derided by the left when we call them on their near idolatrous behavior.
I’m not against people giving President Obama credit where due, but the amount of praise lavished on this sitting president is seriously unjustified, as well as unnatural.
This is yet another reason why I am so glad my kids are homeschooled.

So to close this out, I leave you with the Obama National Anthem, courtesy of Glenn Beck (yeah, I hear you lefties out there decrying Glenn Beck and Fox News in an ad hominem way). But hey, it’s all about hero worship, right?
To my friends…
