Today, El Presidenté made the claim that the GOP was wasting precious time with the Boehner bill in the House, meanwhile the Democrats have yet to cough up anything that works and will even get passage. Thing is, Obama and Harry Reid have already made the point that they won’t pass anything that allows only a short-term raise in the debt ceiling and basically continue to complain about not wanting to make any real cuts to spending.
Then, Nancy “Queen Bee” Pelosi says that John Boehner “went to the dark side” to get the votes for passage. And I would have thought a woman of her experience would actually be able to act a little more than juvenile with her claims.
But no matter. The GOP still has done more to solve the debt ceiling problem than the Democrats have. The GOP has already produced a budget, something that the Dems haven’t done since they got the the Presidency with a super-majority in the Congress in 2008. The GOP passed the Cut, Cap, and Balance plan to fix the problem and Harry Reid has tabled it, with the promise of a veto if it ever got to his desk.
In short, since “Dem-Blonde Debbie” made the point that the Democrats “own the economy”, then I would say that, despite what the GOP does, the Democrats have already claimed ownership of this mess. They are standing in the way of their own bills, and pushing the government to the brink of default.
So, Mr. President, you and your people are the ones wasting time and all of this is now your party’s fault.
And you were calling for change…
I can’t wait for the change of 2012 when the American people give you a pink slip.
Over the last couple of days, it’s been pretty remarkable of some of the things that are coming from the maws of Democrats. In fact, it’s getting to be so far over the top that it indicates pure desperation on the part of the Lib-Crats.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz Calls GOP Leaders “Dictators” and “using scare tactics”
So, Debbie “Dem-Blonde” Wasserman Schultz today made a rather audacious statement. Basically, she accuses the GOP of using scare tactics and using their power to create a dictatorship.
Dictatorship – you mean the same strong-arm tactics that the Democrats used to pass the Health Care Bill, locking the GOP completely out of the discussion and passing a mammoth bill so large that the only way to find out what was in it was to just pass it?
Or how about the same scare tactics that Barack Obama used to talk about the dire consequences that would occur if Congress did not immediately pass the Stimulus bill. And it wasn’t a scare tactic to play the Or how about most recently when the Golden One made the statement about how the Social Security checks may not go out on August 3rd, knowing full well that the cash balance of the Treasury would be approximately $74 billion and the payouts would be $22 billion.
Oh boo hoo. Suits me fine. I think Christmas is way too over-commercialized anyway. I’d rather celebrate it with a cup of hot cocoa, sitting next to the hearth, contemplating Jesus Christ, not running up more debt. Maybe this year, I’ll get my wish.
So, in “celebration” of this event, I defer to the great Crypt Keeper from Tales from the Crypt:
Nancy “Queen Bee” Pe-lousy Just Wants to Save the World
Weekly Standard reported a story of Nancy Pelosi lamenting how she just wants to save the world. Uhh, you have a long way to go before you or anyone in your party has the chutzpah to save the world. I think Jesus already did that, anyway, so why don’t you spare us your progressive liberal nonsense and let us take care of our own lives, eh?
Wow, can we get more over the top, Nancy? I mean, really, in 15 years, none of this will mean anything to anyone. Heck, this will be old news next month. But you can keep your pathetic “status quo”. We want fiscal responsibility that keeps government in check forever!
House GOP acting “Incredibly Juvenile”
Jim Carney came off today saying the GOP was acting incredibly juvenile, for trying to force a plan through Congress. Hey, dipstick, at least we HAVE a plan. You coneheads haven’t come up with anything yet that actually works, other than tax the crap out of everyone to pay off people.
So, since all of us Tea Party Republicans out there are just a bunch of children to you, well, then I’ll just pull out a child like quip:
So, Jim Carney….Carney…is that your name or your title? Sheesh, you make us want Robert Gibbs back.
Okay, I’m done…for now.
With the government halting operations of the FAA because of shutdown due to funding, supposedly it means cheaper tickets for travellers. However, it’s been reported that the airlines are keeping the money by raising fares so the tickets cost the same.
This means that the airlines are continuing to charge about $25-30 million per day for taxes that the government isn’t collecting. This means that the airlines are pocketing that money and are deceiving customers by saying they aren’t collecting taxes during the FAA shutdown.
Caveat emptor people. Tight economies make for more thieves and crooks.
Amy Winehouse had talent, but that talent could not save her from her biggest liability – herself.
I’ve never been big into jazz and the R&B circuit in terms of music. I like some of it, but not a bunch. And I admit, I had never listened to anything that Amy Winehouse wrote until today.
The lady had talent and I think the songs she wrote were very telling of the sickness of society, on display for all to see.
Sadly, she lived the same lifestyle in such a way that it killed her. While we wait for the final results of the autopsy to come in, I just look over the news and all the pop culture and just see a tragedy all the way across. Winehouse had potential, but the drugs and wild parties flushed all that. Even in the songs that she sang, you could see a picture of a person who lived the world’s way and paid the ultimate cost.
At the end, all the drugs and partying can never satisfy a destroyed life. Those things can never sooth the hearts of the people she leaves behind. Her music even now brings the reminder of what the actions of her life has brought. And unless she believed and had a relationship with Jesus, the only thing she’s earned for all that raucous living is her own place in hell. It’s sad, because her death was needless and meaningless.
Her final performance teaches an important lesson that Jesus told Peter: he who lives by the sword dies by it.
Our Condolences to the Winehouse family.
You know, I really get tired, I mean really fed up and sick of racists like Sheila Jackson Lee who start saying that the reason why Obama is getting static from Congress…
…is because he is black.
Holy crap, really?? REALLY??
I thought the fact that Obama was black was going to work to his advantage, that he was going to be able to get things done because America had evolved to a place where we could elect a president of African heritage.
Well, not QUITE African, but I digress.
So, on the house floor, she suggests that the reason why Obama gets criticized and has such a tough time, singled out as the only president who has ever had a difficult time getting anything done is because of the color of his skin.
Never mind that not once did the topic of race come up during this discussion about whether we should again defer our bills to the government credit card. Never mind that we completely have a spending problem in the government. Never mind the amount of waste and uselessness of the 2008 stimulus, or the pork projects, so-called “shovel-ready” jobs created, bailouts, defense spending overkill and mismanagement. No, all of this argument is because President Obama is a man of color, so all the evil GOP’s are picking on him.
Sheila, you are a miserable ingrate. You accuse everyone else of being a racist but it’s you who is doing the race-baiting and leveling the vitriol. You are arrogant and corrupt. You represent everything that Barack Obama was talking about overcoming with your racist nonsense.
On the plus side, I guess it also proves a point that I’ve long held that, when Democrats have no other recourse in a situation, they resort to name calling and ad hominem attacks.

So, His Eminence, Barack Obama today stood before the White House press junkies and made this statement with respect to the current struggle in Congress over whether we should go further in debt to cover our spending, or cut the spending.
Obama made the statement that 80% of Americans were on his side with respect to the debate of what to include in the debt package. That means that 80% are alright with the aspect with raising taxes.
What 80% of Americans are we talking about here; the ones that live in the US or the ones who vote left wing? Obama hasn’t asked me – or anyone I know about whether they think we should have our federal taxes raised. As a matter of fact, I’m willing to bet that 8 out of 10 people that I asked, "Hey, do you want to have your taxes raised?", they would reply with a hearty "no".
Americans do agree that something has to be done, but it’s pretty arrogant and presumptuous to say that 80% of Americans are behind him when 80% of Americans have never been behind Obama on anything. I would argue that would also include putting a bullet in Osama Bin Laden’s brain pan.
After Obama’s whiny little spat with Eric Cantor yesterday and him stating that he was going back to the American people, rather than actually asking the American people. Obama knows full well what Americans would actually say if he actually asked them.
Raising taxes on the rich, even if we took 100% of their earned revenue in taxes would not solve the problem at all; it’s like taking $1 to pay against a $10,000 debt. But Obama and the Dems are playing the class warfare card, scaring the crap out of those who live on Social Security, and not bothering to look at the federal budget, line by line like he promised during the 2008 campaign, and cutting out the pork. All the man wants to do is raise taxes, and continue to spend – tax and spend, tax and spend.
Obama absolutely refuses to back away from this point and it’s staggering that a man who purports to have an IQ around 140 can’t actually understand this point. Obama lacks the cajones to actually go on record as cutting anything because that’s potential lost votes when 2012 starts rolling around.
And yet, Obama has the audacity to say that Congress is playing politics. If Obama was committed to this process, he would have fulfilled his campaign promises of cutting out unnecessary spending and not raising taxes. He wants to renege on both.
The way out of this situation is what we down on Main Street live with every day: Cut the spending and live within our means.
