The Rabid Conservative is my blog for the things that matter to me most. Within, you’ll find most of the posts are political in nature. In my youth, I hated politics; I still do today. But today is a day when we all seem to be getting asked to do things we don’t like. So I write.
Articles titled ‘The Rabid Conservative’ or ‘TRC’ for short are topics about what’s going on in the world and my take on it. Topics under ‘The Conservative Underground’ speak more about political philosophy.
Peppered in this blog are also technical writings about computer stuff (TechMage). If you’re a geek like me, you’ll enjoy the change of pace. If not, just move on to the next article in the list.
First, I am a heaven-bound Christian. I don’t claim to be perfect in any way, but I do claim the blood of Jesus Christ as my only payment for my salvation. I believe the Bible is correct in every way and is applicable today for faith and practice. I do believe in absolutes and that most of us are absolutely wrong in the eyes of God, despite what we like to think in order to make ourselves feel better.
Second, I’m a conservative. I’m not inbred, I’m not a redneck, I’m not some farmboy from flyover country who has no clue what’s going on in the 21st century (not to say there’s anything wrong with farmboys or rednecks). I am a thinking American who refuses to drink the kool-aid of the mainstream media, but rather, hold to the principles of less taxes, limited government, fiscal responsibility, traditional family values, and individual liberty and freedoms for all Americans.
Third, I am an fundamental American. I believe in the very same principles of our Founding Fathers. I have read the Constitution, the Declaration of Independance, the Federalist papers, and know on what America was founded. I also see that our Founders would cry if they could see how much we have ignored their words in the light of our own pitiful self-interests.
This blog is for informed thinkers, not kool-aid drinkers. Conservatives and Liberals are invited into the discourse of this blog if they are able to present cogently framed arguments, respectful disagreements, and a committment to understanding and its subsequent progress. If you are such a thinker, I welcome you. But if you are one who doesn’t understand what I write, but still feels the need to cheer or jeer because you’re on one side or another out of an ignorant, sheep-like need to be led, well, I would suggest you move on to something that might make more sense to you.
This Conservative is Rabid. Approach with caution.
