Boston Bombers are Muslim – Was There Any Real Surprise?

with 2 comments

I read a news article this week immediately following the aftermath which pretty much summed it up in one statement:

Please don’t let it be a Muslim (suspect), please don’t let it be a Muslim

It was a Muslim.  Actually a pair of them from Chechnya.

I’m not saying all Muslims are terrorists and killers but Islam, as a system of belief, as a collected religion with a history of bloody violence, does not globally push a message of peace.

I do believe that acts like this are done by those in the extreme – by those who don’t represent the general populace of the Islamic community.  And some are going to say, “well, what about the right-wing extremists who slaughter abortion doctors”.  The thing is, right-wing extremists don’t control the the majority of Christian society or the general populace of the USA.  Muslim extremists, however, enjoy near total control of their world religion, including several countries pivotal to the world economy.  It’s these same extremists who use their money and influence for violence and hatred – and then they celebrate it.

[I am] happy to see the horror in America…American blood isn’t more precious than Muslim blood…Let the Americans feel the pain we  endured by their armies occupying Iraq and Afghanistan and killing our people  there.” - Mohammad al-Chalabi, head of an extremist Jordanian Muslim Salafi group

If Muslims don’t want to be viewed as being existential terrorists, then perhaps the rank and file, the everyday Muslims who claim the religion is peaceful and don’t want to be associated with their extremists for fear of being “guilty by association” should actually do something about their extremist problem.  Remove them from office, places of power, and silence their hate-filled rhetoric that condemns Islam to their stigma.

Oh, and by the way, perhaps these verses, the words of Mohammad himself, should be either “explained” or “repudiated”.  Just sayin’.

Qur’an:9:88 – “The Messenger and those who believe with him, strive hard and fight with their wealth and lives in Allah’s Cause.”

Qur’an:9:5 – “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Qur’an:9:112 “The Believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed.”

Qur’an:9:29 “Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission.”

Qur’an:8:39 “Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah.”

Qur’an:8:39 “So fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief [non-Muslims]) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world).”

Ishaq:587 “Our onslaught will not be a weak faltering affair. We shall fight as long as we live. We will fight until you turn to Islam, humbly seeking refuge. We will fight not caring whom we meet. We will fight whether we destroy ancient holdings or newly gotten gains. We have mutilated every opponent. We have driven them violently before us at the command of Allah and Islam. We will fight until our religion is established. And we will plunder them, for they must suffer disgrace.”

Qur’an:8:65 “O Prophet, urge the faithful to fight. If there are twenty among you with determination they will vanquish two hundred; if there are a hundred then they will slaughter a thousand unbelievers, for the infidels are a people devoid of understanding.”

Qur’an:9:123 “Fight the unbelievers around you, and let them find harshness in you.”

Ishaq:578 “Crushing the heads of the infidels and splitting their skulls with sharp swords, we continually thrust and cut at the enemy. Blood gushed from their deep wounds as the battle wore them down. We conquered bearing the Prophet’s fluttering war banner. Our cavalry was submerged in rising dust, and our spears quivered, but by us the Prophet gained victory.”

TSA = Terror Support Administration

leave a comment »

And why?  Because TSA has decreed that they have to take more than a peek under Grandma’s dress and/or grope her in order to give license to doing the same thing to Ali Al-Kaboom.

These last couple weeks have really made me wonder if we are really winning the War on Terror or if we’re just raising the white flag in surrender when we lift our arms to be groped by the TSA or photographed in our birthday suits.

America, as a general rule, has become wussified in the light of what Al Qaida has been doing over the last 10-20 years.  Al Qaida is a terror group – they incite terror to draw attention to their cause.  That cause: to persecute any country (and particularly America) for enjoying freedom and liberty.

So, America responds with “increased security measures” because we’re scared that some clown will put a bomb in his BVD’s or a box cutter in his shoe.  In short, Americans have become afraid of dying and being hurt, so they are now obsessed with this notion of surrendering the very freedoms we all so dearly enjoy.  Our government seems to hold security as its highest ideal, rather than freedom and liberty.  So, let me take a moment and rewrite the final line of the Declaration of Independence.

And for the support of this Declaration these new security measures, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence the Government, we mutually pledge to each other each other’s our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

I guess we can call it the Declaration of Dependence now, eh?

Now, let’s be frank for just a moment.  Out of all the terror threats in the world, where is it coming from?  If you said, “The Islamic World”, you would be right.  But for some reason, the political America is so wussified over acknowledging this idea that 99.95% of all terror in the world is done by Muslims (and most often against other Muslims – but that’s a separate issue).  So rather than the TSA and our intelligence community taking steps to look at the sources of where it’s coming from, they just automatically suspect that the 75 year old white-haired lady is working for an American terror cell and probably has bomb making material in her purse.

And then with the voyeurism and groping…

And why?  Because TSA has decreed that they have to take more than a peek under Grandma’s dress and/or grope her in order to give license to doing the same thing to Ali Al-Kaboom.

I don’t mean to sound like a racist or so-called Islamo-phobe.  I will agree that most of the Islamic world is probably peace loving and without inclinations to incite terror.  I would also say that much of the Islamic world also hates America and everything she stands for, but they’re not out blowing up planes or knocking down buildings.  By the way, that’s about the same attitude as the rest of the world, actually.  But if we look at the threat objectively, there are far more Muhammad-freaks out there, ready to be a suicide bomber than there are Jesus-freaks.

Uh oh, Grandma has a copy of the Qur’an in her purse…

The reason why I think it might actually be a good idea here is that it would amply provide a reason for the mainstream Islamic community to clean up their own back yard.  They might actually begin to reason, “hey, these fanatical lunatics that are associating with us are causing us all to look bad – we need to put a stop to that.”   Maybe that’s just wishful thinking.  But I’m willing to put the problem on ridding the world of the Islamic terrorists on the Islamic world.  We’ll take care of all those droves of Judeo-Christian terror groups who are ready to commit hari-kari in the name of Jesus (or G_d – for my non-Messianic Jewish friends).

However, as long as our “beloved” government continues to be more concerned about “image” and “political correctness”, rather than with actually doing the things necessary to keep the country safe, we, as citizens, will be asked to continue to sacrifice liberty after liberty, freedom after freedom – and for what – to live in an America that no longer is beacon of liberty and freedom.  And as that happens, those that hate America and the liberties and freedoms that we enjoy will achieve their objectives.

My wife came up with this thought: maybe as a pre-check measure is to tell the TSA that Muhammad can kiss my rear-end while chomping heartily on a BLT sandwich.  Then, have the TSA look through the crowd and see if anyone starts yelling, “Death to America”.

Fat Kid Jimmy or Ali Al Kaboom

with one comment

This just has to be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard.

Yesterday, Michelle “First Time” Obama*, rolling out ObamAd Inc’s new initiative has unilaterally said that fat people are a threat to National Security.

“A recent study put the health care cost of obesity-related diseases at $147 billion a year, this epidemic also impacts the nation’s security, as obesity is now one of the most common disqualifiers for military service.”

What “First Time” doesn’t get is that why we have to have a military in the first place, because we have people in this world who want to bring harm to this country and the people in it.  Rather than actually go after the real reason why we have National Security issues, that is, because we have terrorists smuggling bombs in their underwear, shoes, bras, or whatever, Michelle is railing on fat kids.  While she mentions obesity, the Let’s Move program is aimed specifically at obese children in public schools.

There was always one fat kid in school that got picked on.  Maybe his name was Billy, Timmy, or Susie.  In our example, we’ll call him Jimmy.

You’d always see Jimmy walking around, with a packet of Oreos or a bag of potato chips in his grasp, feasting on high fructose corn syrupy goodness, after putting away an artery clogging, heart stopping, triple cheeseburger, with onion rings and a 44 oz. Coke.

But one thing we never thought of Jimmy – he wasn’t very threatening.  When he got mad because people picked on him, he’d try to chase you, but Jimmy couldn’t run more than 20 feet before gasping for air and doubling over (like that was a sight we ever wanted to see).  Jimmy would cry, go home, and drown his sorrow in a family size bag of M&M’s with a 2 liter Coke chaser before playing Nintendo for six hours straight to help him cope with his image issues.

But evidently, Michelle Obama thinks Jimmy is a threat to the security of the United States because he can’t join the military.  He couldn’t scale a wall higher than three feet, but he can certainly the folks at The Pentagon a bit worried.  Michelle Obama is worried about it too.

But when the aptly named “Fruit-Of-The-Kaboom” bomber attempted to blow up a plane by hiding the bomb making materials in his BVD’s, the Obamas were soaking it up in Hawai’i.  But did they cut their vacation short in the face of an act (albeit failed) of terror?  Not a chance.  However, had George Bush pulled something like that, he’d be read the riot act by the liberals in Congress.

Perhaps the only thing stupider than all this, and this is quite a reach, is the Harrisonburg Police Department bringing felony charges against two, 21 year olds, for throwing snowballs at cars.  Evidently, the actual charge is that they are “throwing missiles” (unlawful shoot/throw)

Well, that’s it then.  Fat Jimmy is a threat to national security.  Lob a snowball at him.

Just when liberals reach their maximum levels of stupidity, they find a way to push the envelope of the ridiculous.

* Quoting Michelle Obama: “For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of this country.”, which is just as amusing that she’s the First Lady.  Magnus the Dog tells me he likes the nickname.

The Conservative Underground: Day 10

leave a comment »

If it’s not terrorism, then what is it?

I’m referring to today’s interview between Chris Cuomo of ABC and William Ayers on Good Morning America. During his interview, Bill Ayers was questioned by Chris Cuomo as to whether his activities as part of the Weather Underground are deemed acts of terrorism. Ayers said, “It’s not terrorism because it didn’t target people”.

In the ’60′s, as a Weatherman, Ayers’ and his associates planted explosive devices at the Pentagon, at the NYPD, and attempted to do so at the Capitol. Ayers is unrepentant of these acts and even on 9/11, wishes his group could have done more. In these acts, two NYPD police officers were killed as well as three Weathermen (because of their inability to use explosives). However, Ayers disagreed with Cuomo’s definition of terrorism because it didn’t involve the specific targeting of people.

So, I did some checking into the actual definitions of terrorism and noted some very interesting argument and debate as to what is terrorism and what is not. In 2005, the UN wrestled with this because of different opinions about whether it was violence directed at just people (as Ayers maintains) or if it involved the destruction of property, whether the motivation was directed at influencing a government or if it included religions or ideological reasoning, and whether the intent was to kill people or merely to frighten.

The etymology of the word, “terrorism” suggests that the intent is to frighten someone into changing behavior, with the first instances showing up in 1793 during the French Revolution. With that definition, we notice that it revolves around whether the use of violence is legitimate and legal (for example, soldiers could not be accused of terrorism if their war has legitimacy – even though that is even subjective, based on who is being tried)

Today, the definition of terrorism, as a matter of governmental policy, is mired on interpretation and reminds me of SCOTUS Justice Stewart’s 1964 opinion about pornography: “I can’t really define it, but I know it when I see it.” I’m afraid the same can be said about terrorism.

The US (which really, is whose definition is the only one that really matters since these acts occurred in the US), deems terrorism as any violent or life-threatening act that in violation of criminal law which appears to be intended to intimidate or coerce the civilian population to influence Government policy, affect gov’t conduct by mass destruction assassination or kidnapping (Title 18 USC Section 2331)

The UK and the EU agrees with this position, attempting to advance a political, religious, or ideological cause by intimidation involving serious violence against a person, serious damage to property, endangering life, or creating a serious risk.

However, while western society seems to have arrived at some basic consensus over what terror is, the rest of the world, particularly those in radical Islamic circles, have a different opinion, again, because of the legitimacy question. Radicals don’t see terrorism as such because they believe that the Quran gives them the license to commit violence, because it’s legitimate when attacking infidels.

As for me, I see that Ayers is dancing around the truth and is being intellectually dishonest (which is dubious for an academic as he is). He doesn’t want to admit what many in this country would agree to be terrorism, that, while he wholly disagreed with what was going on Vietnam, with 2,000 soldiers per month getting killed over there, that his actions were, indeed, acts of terror.

People like Bill Ayers disgust me no end. He admits that what the Weathermen did was “over the line in a political and legal sense and even in an commonsensical manner”. Yet, he does not regret anything that he did, because in his distorted view of reality, his acts of terror and demonstration were wholly legitimate.

Tell that to the NYPD officers you killed, Mr. Ayers. You’re as contemptible as they come and I can’t believe you are a citizen of this country. I’m a patriot. You’re far less.
